Springtime Poem

Springtime Poem  (inspired by Langston Hughes)

Let the sunshine run through your veins

Let the smell of flowers invade your nose

Let the sound of birds and animals entertain your ears

The blossoms of spring are apart of a beautiful mural painting the serene

The new born animals mesmerize the minds of people everywhere

Springtime memories will last forever

No matter how hard you try to erase them

Let them be

Flowers, Pollen, animals, warmth, and love

Earth Day Poem

Globe David Kjelkerud via Compfight

Hey guys, today is Earth Day!!! One whole day to celebrate the Earth, isn’t that amazing?  In honor of Earth Day, I thought I would write a poem.  So, enjoy.   (P.S. it is a haiku)

The Earth is our home

Where we live, play, and laugh

Happy birthday Earth!

I know, it’s short but it is the words that matter not the length of the poem.

Have a wonderful day!!

Never Ever

Never Ever

I’ve never fallen into a coma,

Sleeping for eternity

Never eaten Hagus

though it’s from my native country

I’ve never gotten a tattoo

Marking my skin,

Never pierced anything

But my ears

I’ve never slept for more

than 24 hours,

My mom would

never allow it

I’ve never cried myself to sleep

Never eaten raw meat

straight from trang’s farm

I’ve never wondered what life would be like

outside of town

never realize

I’ll be leaving soon

Inspired by Shel Silverstein’s “Never”

Want a Laugh?!

Hey Guys,

Today for the student blogging challenge my teacher, Mrs. Rombach, told us to write about one of our favorites.  So, I am going to write about my favorite You Tubers.  🙂

First off, there is Tyler Oakley. Tyler Oakley is the sweetest person ever, you don’t even have to meet him to know that.  Just by watching his videos you can feel the happiness and love that radiates off of him.  His smile makes everyone around him smile, and he is so funny.   I definitely recommend you watch some of his videos.  I promise you that after watching one video, you will want to watch more.

Here is one of his videos:

Next up there is Miranda Sings.  Miranda Sings is so funny, she can make you laugh even when you don’t want to smile.  Her over use of lipstick is one of the MANY reasons why she is one of my favorite You Tubers.  She sings at the top of her lungs and doesn’t care what anyone says about it.  She is appropriate for all ages, and can entertain anyone who watches her videos.  Some may think that she is obnoxious, but I think that she is hilarious, in the good way.

Here is one of her Videos:

Another one of my favorite You Tubers is Superwoman.  Superwoman is also amazingly funny.  In some of her videos she dresses up as different people and I literally can’t stop laughing.  Superwoman does multiple types of videos, so everyone can enjoy.  FYI, she does this cool opening and closing thing with her hands.  She makes the Superman sign and says a phrase.  If you haven’t heard of her then you probably should look her up on You tube.

Here is one of her videos:

Thanks for reading, and make sure that you go on You Tube and check these guys out! You Tube Link

Have a nice day!

P.S. What are your favorite You Tubers?

(All credit for videos goes to the You Tubers that created them, Tyler Oakley, Miranda Sings, and Superwoman.)

Book Review-Pride and Prejudice

Hey everyone!  I was thinking from now on I should do a book review every week.  Sense I read a lot of books I thought this would be a perfect way to introduce some of my favorite books to everyone!  Don’t be surprised if you see some of the books that I mentioned in my Favorite Books post.  I hope you enjoy!

Pride and Prejudice

This is my all time favorite book.  I read the illustrated classic for the first time over the summer.  Then, at the beginning of October I found the original version in my local library.  When I read it, I instantly fell in love with it.  I love the old fashioned language it really make you think.  For people who have not read this book it is about a young girl, Elizabeth Bennet, who lives with her four sisters, mother, and father, in 19th century England.  Mrs. Bennet is a miss-guided, overly nerved, may I say, crazy lady.  She is trying to set her daughters up with rich and handsome men.  While on this journey Mr. Bingley moves to town, he is a rich, handsome, and well mannered gentlemen.  Jane, Mrs. Bennet’s eldest daughter is very fond of Mr. Bingley.  But, Mr. Bingley brought a friend, Mr.Darcy.  Though very handsome, he is a proud, prejudice, and extremely rude man.  Everyone can figure out his character before they have even formally talked to him.  Elizabeth agrees with their judgement, but she also shes something deep in his appearance.  This book really teaches you about not judging people right away, and not to judge someone by their social status.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves history, classics, true literature, and a little bit if romance.

Have a wonderful day!!

5 Minute Friday-Quotes

“There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can’t.  What you’ve got to do is turn around and say watch me.”

Don’t you just love this quote?  There are so many people in the world that will tell you that you can’t do it, or you are not good enough.  But, don’t let them get to you.  All you have to do is turn around, look them in the eye, and say “watch me”.  Even if you know that you can’t do it, you tried and that is good enough for me.  The ability to try something new is a blessing, don’t let people tell you that you can’t do it.  You will never know until you try.

Have a wonderful day!!!

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner

(Where I am From Poem)

I am from a wiped memory

from fear

I am from dreams

from wanting to be a Runner

from being awakened by nightmares

at dawn

I am from warming up

to the glade

and not completely

fearing it

I am from people watching me

like I’m a complexed puzzle

waiting to be solved

from the stares and

disapproving nods

I am from the maze

from running all day

from discovering

new mysteries

I am from conquering my fear

from leading my friends to safety

from escaping the maze

from loss

but also from gain

(This poem was written in Thomas’s perspective.)

My Favorite Place on Earth

My Favorite Place on Earth

Yesterday I was talking to my friends about what our favorite places on earth were.  Some said Paris, others said England.  When it was my turn to say my favorite, I didn’t know what to say.  I thought back to all of the places that I have been to.  I have been to alot of places and I loved all of them.  I decided I had to dig deeper into my thoughts, find the reason why I loved those places.  As I went deeper and deeper into my memories I realized that I was happiest when my family was with me.  It doesn’t matter where you are, it just matters who you are with.  So, I answered “Wherever my family and friends are”.  When I said that some of my friends gave me questioning looks.  “Mikayla, you have to say a place.” my friend told me with a confused look, like I should know this.  “I know, but it doesn’t matter where you are it matters who you are with.” I replied.  I looked around at the smiling faces of my friends and knew they agreed.
